Based on M21-1 adjudication criteria for Dental & Oral Conditions conditions. These are the factors a VA rater evaluates when assigning a rating percentage.
M21-1 III.iv.4.K- •Number and location of missing teeth due to service-connected cause
- •Whether prosthetic replacement is feasible
- •Chewing function impact
- •Oral tissue involvement: mucous membrane, bone loss (mandible/maxilla), soft tissue damage
- •Bone loss of mandible or maxilla documented on imaging
- •Whether the condition is service-connected or a treatment-caused residual
