What Raters Look For
Based on M21-1 adjudication criteria for Genitourinary — Diagnoses conditions. These are the factors a VA rater evaluates when assigning a rating percentage.
M21-1 III.iv.4.E- •Voiding frequency: documented daytime and nighttime voids
- •Urinary urgency, incontinence, or hesitancy documented in records
- •Urine flow rates (uroflowmetry) if obstruction is present
- •Kidney function tests: creatinine, BUN, eGFR
- •Recurrent infections: how often, how treated
- •Whether any appliances (catheter, bag) are required
